About our beans

Technically, we should say "pulses" instead of beans, or even "legumes" if you want to sound fancy (actually that’s the entire plant). These include anything from beans to chickpeas and lentils, and if you've ever had Indian food, hummus, or veggie burritos, you'll know they can be mighty tasty.

Pulses are, of course, very healthy as a good source of protein, iron, fiber and many other essential vitamins and minerals, as well as antioxidants. They’re also one of the most sustainable sources of protein, they use very few resources compared to animal agriculture.

But let's be honest and bring up the trumpeting elephant in the room, beans are sometimes called the musical fruit! Cool Beans Foods addresses that, of course! Actually, all fiber-rich foods are, well, “musical”.

Know that certain soaking and cooking techniques can choke the bloat. If you make them at home, soak them for two to three days, changing the water each day, or cook beans with a small teaspoon of baking soda.

So, there cannot be any excuse to not eat your beans!
